Reaffirming Love

Reaffirming Love

I try not to get too involved in the current affairs of the world, the news and politics. However it is hard to turn a blind eye to the recent Israel and Palestine conflict. Ultimately I am in no place to make a judgment, but all I hope for is for both sides to ceasefire. As I was catching up on the recent events in Gaza, I can’t help but ask the question, “Why do we suffer?

As an empath, it is hard for me to get out of a state of sadness and despair when I read the news and world events such as the Israel and Palestine conflict. I cried while pondering what is the lesson from pain and suffering? Alas I do not have an answer and I don’t think I ever will. However all I can hope is that, we, the human collective, take the pain and suffering as a motivation to stand stronger in our love and light. We take the pain, from our lives and experiences or seeing innocent lives lost to war and conflict, and use that to transform ourselves to be even more of a conscious being that spreads love and light in times of darkness. At least that is what I am going to take from this — I want to be a better, kinder and more compassionate person.

I want to show the dark, selfish and hateful side of humanity that I will never be part of it. That my love and light will never be broken.

*Edit - Around 10:30PM last night, I felt called to make some incense after reading the news about Gaza and catching up with current events about the Israel and Palestine conflict. I have been working on a floral scent recipe for a solid incense idea and intuitively reached for Ylang Ylang. Personally I never felt drawn to the scent of Ylang Ylang, but last night I really wanted to incorporate this scent. My original intention was to use Magnolia only, but I felt the need to add Ylang Ylang. Coincidentally enough the spiritual meaning and benefit of Ylang Ylang is to “help us to connect to our own heart, process things from the heart and heal emotional traumas.”

Ylang Ylang is an emotional trauma healer. It allows emotional healing to flow naturally, nourishing the heart in the process. It reminds us that joy can be felt and experienced more fully when we allow the heart its full spectrum of emotions that can be felt. Feelings that have been buried inside are easily surfaced through Ylang Ylang’s assistance. (https://hebaelhakim.com/about/)

I cannot even begin to imagine the trauma of those suffering from both sides of this conflict.
